case study:

Let's face it, banking for the most part, is a bit of a pain in the ass.  Cold, unengaged customer service is usually coupled with ludicrous fees and a lack of compassion for you as an individual.

In this spot for Western Kansas based Valley State Bank, we set out to right that wrong.  Our concept for the "Not a Number" spot set out to prove that you can still enjoy the experience of banking with all of the services you need and the personal touch you deserve.

Once the creative concept was established, we shot the spot entirely on location with minimal crew.  We used talent stand-ins, which would ultimately be replaces by CG versions of people... who were merely numbers on a piece of paper.

Once the spot was pieced together, we embarked on the long task of matching motion, animating characters and cleaning the background plates.  For the most part, we shot minimal clean plates, as real characters needed to interact with our CG figures.  So, we rotoscoped and hand painted out the actors, along with a little digital set dressing.

The spot was shot on a Canon 60D with L-Series glass.  Original edit was in Adobe Premiere CS6 with VFX and compositing done in After Effects CS6.  Cinema 4D was used for all of the 3D work.  Final Color and sound was finished in After Effects and Final Cut Pro X.
